We are very grateful to Nick from Walker Plant who did a brilliant job for us last week. Given that we have not got room under cover at Alford for all our vehicles, we’ve had to find alternative storage for some of our more vulnerable vehicles namely our Green Goddesses and our Austin K4 60′ Turntable Ladder. The latter has been subject to a four year restoration and as such we couldn’t see it stored outside under a tarpaulin! Nick carried out a series of shuttle runs which saw 3 Green Goddesses and the Austin safely tucked away for the winter. Nick was accompanied by Liam and another friend and we’re very grateful to them all for giving up their time and services free of charge to ensure these old time vehicles could be safely moved away from Scunthorpe and into storage.
