We are always so grateful and slightly humbled when we receive help from serving military personnel. Given that the majority of museum volunteers are ex-service, it is always a pleasure to reconnect with today’s Armed Forces Servicemen and Women.

3 RAF Personnel recently gave up their spare time to help out with the move. Fg Off Jordan Barry (pictured in the centre) who is a pilot based at RAF Barkston Heath, and Engineers SAC (T) Aaron Rawson (left) currently based at RAF Marham and SAC (T) James Firth (Right) currently based at RAF Coningsby came over to Scunthorpe to assist with packing artifacts before travelling to Alford to help with unloading. All three were fascinated with the amount of material that they viewed and were keen to learn more! Given the importance of ground trades supporting the final projection of Air Power, these three gentlemen epitomise what the Air Force should be about. It is hoped that this is the start of a lasting relationship and we hope to see them all in the future wearing their overalls and getting stuck into the various restoration projects that we have on offer. Thanks again Lads.
