The news that Scottish Firefighter, Barry Martin, has passed away from the injuries sustained at the former Jenners building fire in Edinburgh earlier this week has been met with profound sadness by all at the Museum of RAF Firefighting. We would like to send our deepest sympathies and support to Mr Martin’s family, friends and colleagues in the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service at this most difficult of times.

Events like this are a stark reminder of the risks the men and women of our Front Line Services and the Armed Forces face in their duty to keep the public safe from harm on a day to day basis – irrespective of commitment. It is also when the relationships and bonds forged during this service come to the fore to support those affected.

For those that can, and want to, The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service Family Support Trust will gratefully receive donations to support the firefighters and their families affected by the incident earlier this week.
