My Dad was also in the RAF, not a fireman but was in the Canal Zone and witnessed an early Canberra crash at Kasafreet(?) Reply John Morgan on 27/01/2016 at 7:59 am Hello! I’m very happy to have found your library. I’m writing from Los Angeles and am looking for information about the MoD Fire Brigade in the 1930s. I am working for a new clothing company called The Lost Explorer (www.thelostexplorer.co) and we have reworked a vintage 1932 MoD fire brigade jacket into a contemporary design. Because our company is influenced by history and travel, we wanted to get the history right with this jacket. I’d love to know if this jacket looks familiar and who exactly wore it? Also if there are any photos you have of someone wearing something like this? I know it’s a tall order but any information would be helpful as we’ve scoured the internet and come up empty until I discovered your museum. I can send an image of the jacket if you send me an email address where you are. Thanks so much in advance on any information you could offer. All the best, John Reply Submit a Comment Cancel reply Your email address will not be published. Required fields are marked *Comment Name * Email * Website Notify me of new posts by email.
