Hornsea 999 Day, Sunday August 28th 2016

Come down to the seafront by the corner of Sands Lane/South Promenade (near the police station) on Bank Holiday Sunday and experience Hornseas’ own 999 day. A fun fair will be available, food, drink, fundraising stalls and big first event which we hope to have annually.

The event hosted by Hornsea Inshore Rescue will be a great day out for everyone, maybe you want to learn some CPR or make and injured teddy bear better in the ambulance courtesy of North East Medical Services, watch a Road Traffic Collision car extracation demo by Humberside Fire and Rescue or maybe just enjoy the sights and sounds of all the emergency service vehicles present on the day. You can even try on uniforms and play with the blue lights and sirens on Police cars, Fire engines, Ambulances and more.

Services attending so far are:

Hornsea Inshore Rescue, HM Coastguard Hornsea, Yorkshire 4×4 Response, Humberside Police (Hornsea Special Constables and NPT), Humberside Fire and Rescue (Hornsea station), Yorkshire Ambulance Service, Kingston upon Hull Voluntary Emergency Service and North East Medical Services, UK Border Force, Royal Air Force Bomb Disposal and Yorkshire Lowland Search and Rescue.

HM Coastguard Rescue Helicopter and Humberside Police Helicopter O99 should be performing a flypast at some point during the day if operational commitments allow.

Weather conditions apply and some services will still be deployable to emergencies and may have to leave at short notice.
